BOS Fantasy Baseball Rules
ROSTER RULES:
If a team fails to reach the innings minimum 2 times during the same season, that team will lose it's highest draft pick in the next draft.
Your team must have at least 1 eligible player starting in all 9 offensive positions on your Yahoo roster. N/A's and DL players are not considered eligible players. If you go for an extended period of time in violation of this rule, your roster may be adjusted by the commissioner.
PROSPECT LIST LIMITS:
15 prospects may be protected on your prospect list who are below the following MLB limits:
-130 At Bats
-Pitching: 50 Innings Pitched or 15 appearances, whichever comes first.
If a player under prospect limits becomes N/A, you have the option of moving him back to your prospect list. N/A over the career limits cannot be moved back to your prospect roster.
NEW/RETURNING PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:
NEW PLAYER - Newly drafted players and international players who are below the prospect list eligibility limits, and who have not signed with an MLB team by the start of the prospect draft, are not eligible to be drafted or added until the next year's prospect draft.
RETURNING PLAYER - Players who have exceeded the prospect eligibility limits and are returning to MLB (from Foreign or Independent leagues or retirement), who have not signed with an MLB team by the start of the free-agent draft are not eligible to be drafted or added until the next year’s free-agent draft.
PRE-SEASON N/A:
In addition to your 15 prospects, up to seven (7) players who were on your Yahoo team, who are below the prospect innings/starts or at bats limit at the beginning of the new season are eligible to be rostered in on your prospect list until the prospect cut deadline.
PRE-SEASON IL:
In addition to your 15 prospects, up to ten (10) players who will begin the season on the IL for a major injury may be kept on the your prospect list until the prospect cut deadline. Eligibility may be subject to commissioners approval.
PROSPECT ELIGIBILITY EXPIRATION:
As soon as the game ends in which a prospect reaches one of the limits, he is on waivers. A waiver claim may be submitted by 4pm EST the day after the game began, by any of the 19 teams that did not just lose his rights. The winning bidder will be posted by 9pm EST and is based on previous prospect draft pick order, with the winner's "waiver position" changed to the last slot. If no one bids, that prospect becomes a free agent at 9pm EST and is able to be rostered in the Yahoo site by any team.
PROSPECT DRAFT/FA DRAFT
There will be annually a three (3) round prospect draft using reverse standings combined with a lottery for the bottom 6 teams. Prospect adds are officially locked during the prospect draft.
After the prospect draft, we will have a one (1) round free agent draft using reverse standing from previous year. Free agency and prospect adds will be opened per an announcement following the drafts.
POSTING PROSPECT MOVES
Prospect moves must be posted in the BOS website's Transaction thread and players added to your roster. This includes all drops, adds, and trades, as well as N/A and DL pre-season protection. If you do not post, then your transaction is not valid should a dispute arise. If it is determined that you are being deceptive by not posting your drops, then you may be removed from the league at the commissioner's discretion.
PROSPECT CUT DEADLINE:
The deadline to cut prospect lists after the draft is the final Sunday of the first "week" of the regular MLB season. If your list is not at 15 by 9PM EST, you will forfeit all your draft picks from the most recent draft.
DEADLINES STANDARDIZED:
All league-wide roster deadlines will be set for 9pm EST. This includes anything that has a deadline imposed by the commissioner. Yahoo's standard deadlines will remain Midnight PST.
